Gaynor was a founding partner of Integrated Records & Information Solutions (commenced March 2003), and is now a Director of IRIS Consulting Group Pty Ltd.

Gaynor has over thirty years’ experience in Business Administration in the private and public sectors, many of which have been specifically in the area of Information and Records Management. She first came into contact with Records Management in 1969 when she began her career in the Registry of a large manufacturing business. In 1996 she formalised her experience and gained a Bachelor of Applied Science in Information and Library Studies, was the F A Sharr Medal Winner for that year and immediately began a Graduate Diploma in Records and Archives Management.

She has experience in leading and managing records management teams in local, State and Commonwealth government agencies. She has implemented electronic document and records management systems, developed digitisation frameworks, policies and procedures, developed taxonomies for content management systems, undertaken strategic records and information management planning, established records management teams, and undertaken a variety of system reviews.

Gaynor has also conducted audits and reviews of records management in public and private sector agencies, developed strategic and operational policies and procedures, developed and implemented activity-based classification schemes (thesauri) and retention and disposal schedules, developed Record Keeping Plans for state and local government, conducted training in indexing and classification, and appraisal and disposal.

She has been an active committee member of the WA Branch and National Board of the Institute of Information Management (IIM) and served on the WA Branch Committee for approximately eight years. Gaynor has also served on the RIMPA WA Branch Council and represented IIM on the State Records Advisory Committee for seven years.

Gaynor’s professional interest is focussed on providing pragmatic solutions for information management problems in today’s financially constrained business environments whilst ensuring the solutions are grounded in sound theoretical frameworks.
