Gwen joined IRIS in 2010 after eight years in the public service working in both Local and State Government. She developed a breadth of experience and knowledge working in the Department of Environment and Conservation (DEC) and played a key role in developing and implementing a recordkeeping compliance framework at DEC.

Gwen has worked on many information management projects and had a lead role in developing the online Recordkeeping Awareness Training course for the Department of Conservation and Land Management in conjunction with Techniworks Action Learning. This course has been widely adopted across government in Western Australia and in several other jurisdictions.

Gwen brings a diverse set of skills and practical experience to IRIS and since joining the team she has undertaken consultation and collaboration with a diverse range of stakeholders across many projects. Her areas of expertise include: development of digitisation programs, recordkeeping plans, policies and procedures; undertaking records risk assessments and development of records disaster recovery plans; development of business classification schemes and retention and disposal schedules; and review of recordkeeping programs.

Gwen also has considerable experience in developing and delivering training in digitisation planning, retention and disposal, and keyword classification.

Gwen’s professional focus is on ‘operationalising’ information and records management strategy and policy, to facilitate delivery of practical best practice outcomes.

Gwen is a member of Records and Information Management Professionals Australia, and the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM).
