Ros joined IRIS as an intern in 2017 following an earlier career in records environments and as a recent graduate from Curtin University, having obtained a bachelor’s degree in Librarianship and Corporate Information Management.  Ros has many years’ experience with both private and public sector organisations, including the Department of Education Western Australia and the Shire of Capel.

With 9 years’ recent experience in the Library and Archives sector, Ros brings specialised records knowledge in terms of retention management and cross-platform information. A study focus on digital records and archives has allowed Ros to develop a strong knowledge of online environments.

A trained academic writer, Ros has produced work for publication by the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals (CILIP) in the UK, has had work accepted by Records and Information Management Professionals Australasia (RIMPA), and has also provided work for teaching purposes at university. Subjects have included Automated Information Currency and Digital Archiving. Ros is an active member of the Australian Society of Archivists (ASA).

Ros is a skilled and experienced trainer who has supervised both junior staff and groups of volunteers in several work environments, including taking up supervisory roles with first-year students from Curtin University.

Professional interests include digital records and archives, online training environments, professional writing and its application in knowledge sharing, and automated information management.
