Sarah has worked as a records and document management consultant for a wide variety of clients, including State Government, Local Government, not for profit and private organisations, for over 20 years. Previously she worked as an Information Officer/Researcher in Perth and in the UK. Sarah joined the IRIS team in 2004.
Sarah’s extensive experience in the records and document management industry in WA provides a broad perspective on the legislative, compliance, business, financial and operational requirements that shape recordkeeping frameworks.
Sarah’s areas of expertise include the development, implementation and maintenance of records and document management tools such as business classification schemes/thesauri, disposal authorities/retention and disposal schedules, policies and procedures and disaster management plans. She is also experienced in developing and reviewing Recordkeeping Plans (RKPs) and undertaking other reviews of recordkeeping processes and practices.
Sarah has been involved in the implementation and configuration of Electronic Document and Records Management Systems (EDRMS) for a range of client organisations using a number of different software applications.
Sarah has excellent interpersonal skills and is able to establish effective communication with team members, stakeholders and users. A significant amount of her work involves mediating between groups of users with differing requirements and perspectives, resolving conflict and developing workable and compliant solutions acceptable to all stakeholders. She has a long-term ongoing relationship with many client organisations who value her advice and assistance with recordkeeping issues and her trouble-shooting abilities.
