Information, records & document management training

Our experienced and highly qualified training and learning team can provide training needs analysis and create a solution designed for your organisation’s specific requirements.  Whatever your training needs, IRIS can offer a flexible cost effective solution for your organisation.

Please check this notice for updates based on announcements from the Government.

IRIS has several online courses available which provide either an introduction to a topic or act as a ‘refresher’ for a topic.

Go to the IRIS Online Learning page to find out more.

Face to Face Courses

IRIS will continue to hold its current very successful face to face block of courses 4 or 5 times per year.

*Our Face to Face courses allows the training course to be more of a workshop and dynamic training session where trainees may get their questions answered by the Trainer during the course.  Face to Face courses also enable trainees to learn from each other by sharing their collective experiences.  In addition, some trainees have also forged an RM support network with each other because of meeting at our training courses.

Online Learning

IRIS is also developing a range of online training courses as an adjunct to our Face to Face courses. These courses will be delivered via common internet-based technologies.

We are doing this because of the following:

  • We recognise the significant costs in staff absences, travel and accommodation for our remote clients when attending Face to Face courses
  • The capability of online learning to target skills and fill any gaps in knowledge that trainees may have
  • Our online training courses offer flexible delivery that allows trainees to manage the time taken to complete courses
  • Our online training courses cost less than our Face to Face courses, although trainees lose the benefits of attending a Face to Face course as indicated above*
  • Online courses are a great way to undertake a refresher course

Customised Training

IRIS now offers two types of ‘Customised Training’ to suit the specific needs of your organisation:

  • Customised Face to Face Training, and
  • Customised Online Learning.

Delivered at a client’s premises or online using standard internet technologies, our Customised Training is constructed to meet client requirements.

Training in Other States

We bring our training courses to you in other States, Territories and Regions in Australia.

IRIS Face to Face training courses work together with IRIS Online Learning and Customised Training to deliver training to your organisation as required.

Our range of training solutions and products can be adapted to suit specific needs and are deliverable in-house, online, or to groups of 12 or more at agreed venues.

Training Testimonials

  • The procedures that came with the Test Target Sheet were very straightforward and easy to follow and the page of sample results was of great value when undertaking the test as I knew what the results should look like.

  • These courses bring together all the varied components of recordkeeping and give the knowledge structure and context. This has enabled me to gain a bigger picture view and to see the purpose of specific activities and how they fit together.

Peter Bull Department of Agriculture and Water Resources
  • I attended the Records Disposal training with Gwen. I had so many light bulb moments I now know what my work colleagues are talking about and I can join the conversation with knowledge. I can apply my new found skills to my job.

Stephanie Hooper Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries
  • Thank you IRIS Consulting for Going Digital.  We have struggled finding a platform to start the education of our team in digitisation.  Then we were introduced to Going Digital and we are now using it in our training program.  We use it as a tool to educate our team on … what digitisation  is… how we need to view it …and what is required.  Going Digital has provided my team a fundamental understanding of concept, framework and language. It enables them to develop their knowledge and actively participate in the development of our own digitisation program.  This is a free, knowledgeable and easily accessible resource that we are thankful we can tap into.

    Sheryll Gourdis Department of Communities
  • The Disposals Course was very informative, well presented and the practical exercises were a great way to learn and share information.

Tarmla Cook Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development
  • I wasn't a previous records officer and found the presenters very clear, helpful and would talk you through the situations applicable to your worksite. No question was unanswered, and no question was treated with the upmost importance. My attention was held all day, and left feeling like I could go back to my workplace and be confident to perform the records officer role.

  • The Records Disposal course was run by Gwen who really connects with her audience. She took time to answer all questions and made sure staff from various organisations understood the relevant resources. The content covered was relevant to my current work situation and I feel confident in applying the knowledge and skills developed through participation in the course.

  • This online course is a great refresher for me as it helps me to instil more confidence in performing the sentencing, disposal and archiving exercise in my organisation. It is also an interactive web-based course which I can easily do at my own time and pace. The quizzes are great exercise to recap each session that I have completed. Excellent course and I will not hesitate to apply for other online courses available and highly recommend my colleagues to do these courses as well.
